Chris Slusser has been Treasurer since he was appointed in 2016. He served on the Madison County Board from 2008-2012. His 15 years of private sector experience included accounting, finance and as an investment advisor.
EDUCATION
Graduated from Roxana High in 1995; also a graduate of Lewis & Clark Community College and SIUE.
RESULTS
Chris Slusser has nearly tripled the returns on the county’s investment portfolio in less than 2 years. He reduced the Treasurer’s Office budget, saving taxpayers more than $90,000 per year. He sped up real estate tax payments to local schools to allow them to make payrolls during the state budget crisis.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Chris Slusser is a former police officer. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Baptist Children’s Home & Family Services and as a deacon at First Baptist Church – Bethalto. He also previously served as board president for Riverbend Family Ministries.
