Rep. John Shimkus has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1997.
John Shimkus has served as a U.S. Army infantry officer for six years, served in the U.S. Army Reserves until retiring as a lieutenant colonel, taught high school and served as the Madison County Treasurer, before proudly representing southern Illinois in Congress.
